Tree Trimming & Pruning in NJ
Overgrown branches can damage roofs, block sunlight, or become hazardous during high winds — especially in wooded or hillside areas. Proper pruning strengthens a tree’s structure, improves airflow, and enhances the look of your yard.
We trim with both beauty and long-term tree health in mind, whether you’re in a small backyard near Spruce Run or a more open property closer to Bells Crossing.

Old stumps take up valuable yard space, attract pests, and make mowing difficult. We grind stumps well below the surface so you can plant, landscape, or build without obstacles.
This service is especially useful for homeowners dealing with tight landscaping near walkways, gardens, or stonework — common throughout this part of Hunterdon County.

Storm Cleanup in NJ
Storm-damaged trees are dangerous, especially when blocking driveways or tangled in power lines. When severe weather strikes, our crew is on call to respond quickly and clear fallen limbs, branches, or entire trees.

Testimonials
EXCELLENT Based on 135 reviews Abilash Jilla2025-07-11Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mike and the whole crew over Midstate Tree were exceptional in tending to my lawn needs. We removed 4 trees from the front lawn and also did a bunch of maintenance around the property. From coming out to giving me an estimate to the cleanup, Mike was always very transparent, and gave me advice based on his years of experience in the business. I always felt like I was communicating with a very knowledgeable leader and his crew (Rodney/Tony and others) did a great job. Thank you Midstate Tree! Fergie Baumgartner2025-06-18Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am unable to provide more than a 2 star review. I have attached two photos below so you can see their stump grinding work as you make decisions. My contract was to have a maple tree trimmed, a birch tree removed and a maple tree removed and quoting the contract “ Grind stump 2” to 3” below ground grade. Back fill hole with resulting mulch and debris.” The team was here March 29, 2025. My sheds were unlocked that day and the guys started looking thru them, they said for a ladder. The yard wasn’t left in good condition with lots of debris and ruts but I cleaned that up myself over the following days so my mower wouldn’t get damaged. The maple tree stump was not ground as per contract and had a decent amount of stump a few inches above grade (photos attached). It was hidden under 7 wheelbarrows full of mulch/debris so I paid in full that day and only discovered the poor work/tripping hazard a few hours later after we moved the mulch & debris. I emailed Mike that evening 3/29 with photos about the stump grinding issue and Mike said no problem he’d come back. I never saw nor heard from Mike so on 5/5 I emailed again with photos and got no reply. On 5/13, I emailed again with photos and Mike said my email went to spam and he said quote “I can certainly come back to grind the rest of it. I’ll get it on the schedule asap. The rain this week is tough but I’ll try and get there.” Today is 6/17 and I’ve not heard from Mike nor seen Mike. I hired another tree company to finish the work that Midstate was paid for as this has been going on for almost three months. The other tree company did a great job today with the stump grinding and was careful with my lawn. Clayton Wile2025-06-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an excellent, five-star experience with Midstate Tree Service. Mike and Charley made the entire process, from getting a competitive estimate to scheduling the work, incredibly easy. Accepting their proposal was simple and fast. When it came to the actual job, I was blown away. Mike and his team removed three trees and ground four stumps in only a few hours. Their efficiency was matched by their attention to detail—the cleanup was so immaculate that my yard looked better than it did before they arrived. I wholeheartedly recommend doing business with this company. Thank you, Midstate! Robert Farmer2025-05-30Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wielgus Family2025-05-23Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mike and his team did an awesome job on our trees. We had several dead ash trees in difficult locations, close to the house and close to power lines. They were able to get into the areas and cut down the trees in no time. The crew were professional and friendly. The price could not be beat. The wood was dropped and chipped and they were gone in no time. Highly recommend Mid state tree. John Hier2025-05-09Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After gathering a number of estimates, Mike's came in as the lowest and by a considerable margin. Fearing that "You get what you pay for," I, nonetheless, decided to take a chance. Well, having contracted with other tree services, I can now honestly say that Midstate outdoes them all in quality and service! Thank you Mike. Lori Kripetz2025-01-19Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We hired Midstate to take down a large dying maple. They came when they said they were going to, had all the right equipment to be fast and efficient, and cleaned up thoroughly. The owner was available and the crew seemed to work well together. I would definitely recommend this tree company.
